72" full length with HH

How well does a 72" full length UQ work with a bottom entry HH? Any pics would be great.

Go to Jacks R Better for under quilts with slits. Also Arrowhead for synthetic fill underquilts. And, of course, search here with "hennessey" (spelled as it may have appeared.)

JacksRBetter makes some underquilts with slits in them designed to match the HH bottom entry. They work great but in practice you can get by w/o the slits. You just push the UQ out of the way to enter and exit and then it snaps back into place thanks to the bungee suspension.

I have a full length underquilt and a Hennessy Scout.

On a recent hang with temps in the high 20's both nights, I "batted" 500.

One night I was comfortable. the second night I froze. Repeated efforts to get the UQ back in position after entry were not very successful. It was very frustrating and uncomfortable.


I have now categorized the Scout as a "warm weather set up"

Others have mastered the art, so it can be done with a conventional underquilt.
