It might be worth buying 1 or 2 at that price, but I wouldn't harbor high expectation from that down. Downlite.com sells "hotel pillows" advertised with 50/50 fill (feathers/down) which seems to be a good combination of softness & support for a pillow; not so much for backpacking quilts.

I doubt these are very high quality down. Despite the 100% down, it does state "100% Natural Goose Filling Feather Down (will contain feathers and down)". And the price lends to that assessment.

Unless you can see the legal disclosure tag there is virtuaally no way of knowing what the fill is except by trust of the makers. I bought some pillows for our bedroom which were labeled 100% 650 fill power down on the outside packaging. The disclosure tag revealed that 50% of the fill was 650 fill power down and 50% was feathers. But the down was 100% down. The marketers can be just short of deceptive. I do not recommend the cheap pillow and quilt deals that you can find on-line.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Not something I'd go for. Some down pillows have a core in the center that is filled with other material....and this description is really not a description at all. Stick with Bloomingdales Luxe pillows.

Nice site though...never seen it before.

    Second that.
I just filled a new tq with my luxe 800 down. Holy crap is it good stuff ( pun intended). $138 for around 4.5lbs. Not cheap but not too bad either.

HomeMadeHiker -- $138 you say??? Do you have a link to post? I am seeing the queen size at $210 and king at $280 on the Bloomingdale website and that is on sale. Please enlighten as to model, size, and quantity to get the 4.5 lbs of 800 fill.

    Thanks,
    String

I'm betting he got them on eBay. You just have to watch for them and be lucky enough to win a bid. I got 2 of the King size about a year ago. Have only used one so far but it had ~25 oz of 800fp down in a King size soft pillow. Works out to about $2/oz. Now that everyone knows about them though they are harder to get and bid up a little higher

Yes, keep your eye on Ebay. They are hard to win but worth it if the price isn't driven up too far by our own selves here on the forum Seems like we could do something every couple of weeks to keep from bidding against each other.

Also keep looking for close out sales on Bloomingdale luxe pillows by randomly doing google searches here and there.
