I might not do a full (public) review of the Skeeter Beeter but I thought I'd share some photos of the one I recieved (with some modifications). The tarp is a MacCat standard.
I replaced the stock suspension with polyester webbing, added some daisy chain type loops on the webbing to support the tarp and ridgeline, and attached the tarp via carabiners- so it can be removed and raised/lowered or left at home entirely. I thought it worked fairly well with the netting spreader-bars made from bamboo I got from the gardening dept at Target. To hold them in place I had to sew a small bartack onto the edge of the mesh loops. My stuff sack holds all the contents and is about the size of a milk jug. Hammock weight as is comes in at 35.3 ounces. Its very roomy @ 9x4.5 feet.
The netting is held up w/ glove hooks and sticks and can slide freely end to end so it has minimal stress on the mesh. I may add a prusik to the ridgeline if it starts to sag or blow w/ wind. For now, Im happy with the hammock. Despite the mesh being beige, I dont find it hard to see out of.
