Red face Where do you hang your boots?

I've been HYOH for almost a year now, and I suppose I've been fortunate with regards to the weather. I've seen neither snow nor rain on any of my trips, which leads to the question...

I hang in a Hennessy with attached screen. Normally, I hang my boots inside the hammock from the ridgeline.

Where do you hang them when snowy, wet, or muddy?

    Thanks,
    Mike

I don't hang them. I just put them on the ground under my hammock. Then there in a convenient place to put on quick when I have to take my 2am tinkle.

I generally have a small white plastic garbage bag I put them in under my hammock. Keeps critters and bugs out of them and any blowing rain off them.

Same (except for the 2am tinkle part). Just make sure you shake 'em out good before you put them on. You don't want to share your boot with some kind of critter.

Depends...if I'm car camping, I set them on the small chair I carry with me under my tarp, next to my hammock. If I'm hiking, they go on the trash bag under my hammock next to my pack...unless it's raining, in which case both pack and boots go IN the trash bag under my hammock.

I guess I've been hanging them to keep the critters out, keep them from getting lost, and to potentially keep them dry. Hanging them in the hammock also means they're a little warmer than the outside air.

Same here, however I do take my inserts out and keep them in the hammock though; this way if any water gets to my boots, my inserts are still going to be dry.

I hang my boots over the head end of the hammock, under the tarp. Here in New England you don't want to leave anything salty on the ground as they will attract porcupines.

My sandals, which I wear in camp, hang inside the hammock from a small cord with a mini-biner attached to the ridge-line down at the foot end, handy to put on whenever I have to get out of the hammock.
