    Deciding on a new hammock

Am trading up from my beloved ENO and was thinking
Either the Clark UL or the HH backpacker was thinking clarf for it's comfort and element protection
And the HH for its asym desinge and weight
For me comfort and element proofing are conserns
    Any input would be great

Keep in mind that the Clark UL doesn't have a weather shield.

Good to know p.s was going to go with the asym zip not the Velcro
Also like on the Clark can be used as an open hammock due to the zip able net

I have had three Clark's two NX models, and I just sold my Camo NA last week. On the NA models, which is like the UL you have to tie up the bug net, or stuff it like you mentioned. I didn't like that about it. Tying it up is a real chore if you are out and it's windy, or you use a bigger tarp. If you go with whoopies and an XL fly, you have to bring extra rope to tie up your bug net, because the little bungie cords don't line up. Obviously I like the Clark's, but the Hennessey hammocks are cheaper, less fuss and can be just as comfortable.

Have you thought about a DD or Claytor? I haven't tried one, but I hear they lay much like the Clark and the price is sweet on both of them. Also "I think" on those if you don't want to tie up the netting you just flip it over.

The DD Frontline is very familiar to the Clarks and near the same quality construction. The ability to tie up the bugnetting is a very handy feature. Just to confuse matters more, in my opinion, the Switchback from TTTG is sort of a the comprimise between a Clark/DD style and the more traditional gathered-end rigs like the HH. For me, it takes the things I don't like from both of those styles and incorporates many of the positive things. I still prefer a gathered-end hammock, but the Switchbacks are mighty comfy in their own right and sound like they might be the answer for the OP.
    Trust nobody!
