I tie a slider made from Grizz's whipping knot which was on his hardware free suspension (he had an acronym for it, but I don't recall it right off). I don't remember the link right off. But it both prevents pulling the loop into the sling and also doubles as a way to tighten up the end of the loop so that it makes it hard to slip off the Marlin spike hitch or whatever you happen to be using for suspension. Make it from Lash-it or Zing-it.

If you want to be cool like me, you'll use dice.

Put them in a vice and drill them with a Dremel. The Diceman Cometh!

Pony beads would work perfectly and are inexpensive to boot.

OK dumb question what is the bead on a woopiesling for? Does it have any purpose at all?

Okey doke. I thought the hole in pony beads looked tight but I'll try them.

    Thanks!

SSurfr, that is cool. I bought a bag-o-dice some time ago and they would make some special beads.

It prevents the adjustable loop end from being pulled all the way into the bury.

I felt creative and used some gutted paracord to tie a ranger bead on mine.

It keeps the adjustable loop from closing in on itself.

I didn't realize it till I had made all the whoopies I needed, but this is one of the few places you can be really creative. I live a couple of blocks from the Atlantic ocean, and all manner of flotsam and jetsam washes up. Next time I make a whoopie, I'm using this AT&T Death Star looking thing for my adjustable loop stopper!

I don't know what it is, but I found it on the beach and it's a cool stopper.
