    PIF Australia?

Everyday I see the cool things in the PIF thread and would like to participate, but I live in Australia the shipping costs would be too high.
    Somehow I feel left out.
Can we maybe open a Australian version?
    Who else would be interested?

I'd be in. I'll have to sort through my stuff but I'm sure I could find something that would interest somebody.

in case you guys didnt know it, the rules of the PIF thing says shipping in the CONUS and "worked out" to be shipped everywhere else. in other words, if shipping in the CONUS us 10, and shipping to OZ is 20, you pay $10 and i pay 10 and its good. its not meant to leave anyone out, but make it fair for everyone.

    Plus 1

I have no problem with shipping outside the US. I think a Claim the ask about the shipping then if it doesn't work out Oh well. It adds a little work, but it is definitely in the spirit of the thread.

I am aware of that, but
A not everyone is happy to send overseas ( my experience ) and more importantly
B the shipping costs can quickly be higher than the value of small items which makes it not viable for any one

im going to say something, know that it will sound much ruder in text than it is.

the point of the PIF is to transfer good gear that you have no more need for to someone else that may not be able to afford it or for whatever reason they claim it.

so, is it so bad to pay less to ship the FREE item to OZ? or would you rather order it new and pay for the item AND full shipping? sure, not everything offered (like home made coke can stoves) need be shipped if you can make it yourself for less than the price to ship it domestically, but im sure there are things that are considered hard to find in different areas of the world.

most people ive come across on here have no issue shipping overseas, so long as prior shipping consesions are made.

dont give up on it yet, but keep a look out for something you have to have!

I think the problem, Rev, isn't that it's 10 Conus, and 20 international, so 10 each. It's probably more like 10 Conus, 30 international... or 40...
my hammock gear weights total: 2430g (~86oz)
    Winter: total 2521 (~89oz)
(see my profile for detailed weights)

    gram counter, not gram weenie!
