DD's stuff sack says "MADE IN CHINA"
DD's stuff sack says "MADE IN CHINA"
Hmmmm...
I got an email from DD hammocks sales that said Indonesia and Vietnam.

I'll post a pic when I get home today. I may be thinking of something else I'm working on, getting the two diff stuff sacks confused. I also have my DD up in my garage right now, working on some mods, so I'll try to find the tag on the hammock itself. I know I glanced at the DD tag just last night while I was sewing, so I'm pretty sure it says "Made In China" on the stuff sack, but I HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO SPEAK OUT OF MY A** now and then and get confused.
OK, the DD does not say anywhere that it is made in China, the Travel Hammock ATHH does. The DD has no country of origin anywhere on the stuff sack or the hammock itself, only a white tag on the hammock near the head end that says "DD Hammocks", and some specs printed on the stuff sack. I confused the two, as I am working on my review for the ATHH.
I figured HH was going to to be the first to proudly put on their website the fact that a large percentage of their hammocks are made in China, they even sent me a link to that page; I can't find it on their site. The Chinese facility that they use is superior to others and well documented that the workers are relatively well educated and very happy. There is a picture of a happy Chinese worker on the site, however.
Only Hennessy hammock and Ticket to the Moon hammock are
real manufacturer who produce in their own factory ..
All the other brand are only Traders ...
don't think so.
hh is made in china, that's common knowledge, did tom tell you he owned the chineese factory that makes his stuff? because i've never heard that. i suppose it's possible, but seems unlikely.
clark, myself, tree to tree trail gear and several of the other smaller vendors make their own stuff, not just you.
north face, msr, big agnes, marmot...are these not manufactuers? they all contract out their work to my knowledge, but are generally considered manufactuers of camping equipment. i guess it depends on your definition of manufactuering and how strict you want to be with it. is the design process part of the manufactuering process?
Good read, first page could use a bit of updating with all the new companies we HF members now have to choose from. Made in the USA is still important to me.
