Whoopie Hooks and ENO Double Deluxe for 2

So I just ordered some Whoopie Hooks and can't wait to set them up on my single hammock. BUT - I'm wondering if I can use them with an ENO Double Deluxe with 2 people sleeping in it (under 350 lbs combined weight).

    Questions:
    • Can the Whoopie Hooks support 2 people
    • Do I need to use 1/8" Amsteel Blue for 2 people, or is 7/64" ok?
    • Woopie Hooks do work with 1/8" Amsteel, correct?

We got the Double Deluxe as a wedding present, and while I'm not sure if it will be comfortable or not for 2 to sleep in, but the last thing I want is for something to break while we're testing it out!!! I'm trying to convert my wife to hanging, and that would not be a good first experience.

Last question (of this thread anyway) - does Amsteel "bleed" color? Are there colors that bleed less?

    Thanks!
    akx

I don't know. There is one way to find out

If you are concerned you could run two of them together on each end.

    I don't know on Amsteel.

I would go with 1/8th to be safe. Black and silver bleed much less.

Under 350lbs combined, you'd probably be ok with 7/64' but to be safe 1/8' would be better for any dynamic loads places on the hammock

Another thought, you may want to make your slings with longer burries for more friction. By how much I don't know. It may not even be necessary, but something to consider.

I figured 1/8" was the way to go. I like the idea of longer buries!

And the whoopie hooks will snap onto 1/8" amsteel?

The Whoopie Hooks will indeed fit the 1/8" Amsteel. It's good and snug, but it works well.

    For 1/8"
    Eye bury = 5.25" + 2.625" taper
    Whoopie Bury = 9.2"
