SMD Swift or GG Gorilla or ULA Ohm

I'm looking for any/all of these packs, or something similar. Medium/Medium for the sizing, and stays included. Got some love for me?

    Here is my experience,

I have had the ULA Ohm, and the GG Gorilla. I like different things about each of the packs but at the end of the day I think I like the Gorilla just a bit better.

I ended up stripping the gorilla down to make it even lighter. That means I took out the aluminum stays and a bunch of other stuff. I even replaced the collar with once made from cuben fiber...lol. One thing I did not like about the Gorrilla, or any of the other GG packs, is the width of the straps at the top of the pack. They seem to be too close together where they attach at the top of the pack. Of course that is ONLY my opinion. To solve that problem, I put the straps from my old ULA conduit onto the gorilla. I call it my Frankenpack now..

The Gorilla is a bit smaller (which is a plus for me). I like the the pad pocket on the outside for easier access to my sit pad. I also like the narrower profile that the Gorilla offers.

The OHM is larger so it works better for me for winter temperatures when you need to carry more fuel and insulation. The version of the OHM that I had did not have a belt that I liked. The buckle was too close to my hip bone and dug in a bit. I am pretty sure I had the right size belt. Anyway, I think they might have changed that design since then.

That is about all I can offer I suppose. Hope it helps!

thanks for the info, adam! I'm definitely leaning more toward the GG at this point.. I'd prefer to buy from SMD if I could, since they're local to me, but that Gorilla is so well-reviewed and looks fantastic. Anyway, my poles are wearing out, so I might as well pull the trigger on a pair of LT4s at the same time and save shipping costs.

soo.. If anyone wants to sell me their GG Gorilla, let's do that!
