As a fellow Scout leader and hanger I am doubly interested in seeing pictures of the dome. Hoping to get our patrol hooked on hammocks. Very cool idea!

I've actually thought about building a big one in the yard. As a kid, I constructed a few out of straws, sticks, etc. My only real hesitation has been the cost of materials.

This makes me even more interested.

About how much are you going to have into it?

    Love it!

    Dome update

The Dome is built and standing in my yard. One of our Venturer Scouts has been taking some pictures but I don't have them yet. I am off to camp with out the Dome tonight. The Venturer Scouts are going to camp next weekend with the Dome. I will pressure out photographer to get the pics soon.

The Weezer's Dad: The dome frame has cost us $600 Canadian. The only thing left is the cover. We could just tarp it but we want to make a custom cover.

    Update and pictures coming soon!

While researching this topic a bit, I found an interesting write-up from 2001. Dome was built specifically to be able to hang a hammock within it. Pretty neat and there is even a dome calculator linked on the page. Good basic directions too.
    Trust nobody!

    A quick look inside...

I am uploading these from inside the dome. I will add more pics tonight when I get home.
This thing is awesome. You can easily hang 10 hammocks and still have a large common area in the middle.
