Wonder what is the smallest EMT you could use to build this? I'm on a very tight budget to build something for a hammock course I'm putting together. Would 1/2" or 3/4" EMT work? thanks

There are times that I wish our troop was bigger. So cool.

I recently built one using 3/4" EMT & its held up to 8 hammock(some loaded w/ 2 people), no problems at all. mine is around 8ft tall(16ft radius). I only had to buy like 35 10ft conduit poles, the entire project ran me about $200-$250.

For 30-35 pieces I would talk to the local electrical suppliers as you should be able to get a bulk discount.
    YMMV

I came across this one long after it's maiden voyage and absolutely love it!

    Most impressive indeed.

I've been hanging my kids' hammocks under the frame of our trampoline. It works well, because the hammocks are JUST too far from the mat for the hanger to get bounced on. It could stand to be a foot taller, though.

I LOVE this dome! I have a growing Cub Scout, and I think we could build the frame. I would like to see more details on the pattern for cutting the tarps, please. I would like to use the silver tarps to keep the heat down in the summer. Thanks a million!
