    Does anyone remember-hammock stand extensions

I've got the walmart garden hammock stand.
It works with my HH Backpacker A-sym but not the Warbonnet series.
    It needs an upright added.
Seems I remember some one here on HF posting what and how they went about this. I don't want to re-invent the wheel so-to-speak.
I slept in the HH last night--better than a bed for sure but I'd like to use my WBs and my neutron for even more comfort.
Any links greatly appreciated---seems like they ended up going to a muffler shop to get the extension bent???

It was 2Q. Think he may have had them on their site at some point but that may not be correct. There may have been someone else get a few made up as well.

I had a local guy make them up for me. Although I did have two sets made for Harpo63, we never sold them on our website.
If someone wanted a set, I could ask my friend about it. I think he charged about $60 a set. They were made from boiler tube, fairly heavy stuff but no chance of bending them.

Perhaps I was just remembering the pics of the hammocks hung on the stand to show the mods. Could not remember for sure.

2q where did you get the boiler tube? Did your muffler man already have it in stock?

Actually, he works for a metal fabrication company. I remember somebody had trouble with muffler pipe bending so he recommended boiler tube. My setup is at least 5 years old. I had it powder coated as well since it is setup year round. I average 200 nights in it a year..so far its held up well. It's also easily knock downable for Boy Scout demos, etc.

Several years ago I simply got some 90* electrical conduit and still use that same system today.

    It's described in this post.

    Hope that helps.

The road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with weary feet, Until it joins some larger way, Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say.
