What length is the "go-to" size of tree straps? I need to replace my slap straps for my eno DN, for straps that don"t stretch!

I'm doing a whoopie conversion also.

I got 8ft straps from them a few weeks ago.

They have a Marlin Spike Hitch Whoopie Kit that comes with 7' straps.

"A special kit with everything you need to convert your hammock over to whoopie slings. Includes: Two 7' polyester webbing straps with a loop on one end, two toggles, two black amsteel whoopie slings. Literally everything you need to make the conversion to whoopie slings on your hammock."

7-8 foot works for me on big trees if using a marlin spike hitch. But if you're gonna use Dutch Buckles you can go 6 foot.

I would go with a 7' strap.......I have maxed out my 6' straps even with Dutch Buckles on the trees in my area on several occasions. I will be making a set of 7' as soon as I can.

90% of the straps we do are 7'. That's how we decided to make the whoopie kit. Though we have done them from as short as 3 foot to as long as 20. There are a lot of different sized trees across the county

They don't both have to be the same length. One 7-8 footer is good insurance.

I have 3 tree straps. 2-7'6" and 1-15'. The tree size here in Cali can very depending on the eco system. Also they have a tendency to be far apart in some areas. that's why I have 15' whoopies.

i usually carry a 5 footer and a 10 footer... odds are (spoken precariously) only 1 of the trees is wider than the other, at least that's been my exp.

also as said above... longer whoopies can make up the difference where a short tree strap falls short

We have really big trees here in the PNW. I've found a couple of times that I couldn't get 8' around the tree. I got a couple of 14' and just have a little extra slack.

I like the idea of an 8' & a 14', then if you had a bigger tree than normal, it'd still work.

Another idea was from my Kammock Python strap. I might have Paul double over say 5' on one end (you'd have to pay for 10' for this section), then another 5' with a loop on the end. You could put the hitched end through the single loop, then have about 5' of various attachment points w/o worrying about stretch (aka ENO Slap Strap Pro)...
