Atwood Rope

I know that Samson is a favorite, and rightfully so, I love it too. I've been using ATWOOD Rope utility cord as guylines after stumbling onto them at a local surplus/camp/pack store. The utility cord is super-cheap and holds prussics like iron. It's not a limp cord, either. All manufactured in the USA, so that's good.

I have an email into them asking if they make an amsteel competitor. Anybody else have experience with their products?

No experience (though my local Walmart carries some nylon rope in that brand). Keep us posted on what you find out.

Possibly the Kevlar section has lines suitable for suspensions & down to 1/16" like zing-it.

They also list an arborist section and a packaged throwline/ball which might also be zing-it like material.

In any case, something different than yellow would make a more interesting looking contrast for soft shackle prusiks & some of my other splicing projects.

I use gray LashIt! as well as some red ZingIt! to differentiate.
Makes set up a whole lot easier.

We've used 5/8 kevlar Atwood rope for our "tag" lines on our downed firefighter RIT kits for a few years now. Very good stuff.

I don't know anything about the smaller stuff though.

I misspoke... Atwood (with one T) is not at Wally World. It's Attwood (with 2 Ts) that's got cord/rope there.
