Wiscoman and Butwhat2 if you get a chance to get out this week let me know. My son is home from the Air Force so my woods time is diminished, as Mom won't let him out of her sight. I left a tarp at the site location, so we can put wood under there to keep it dry (ish).
As for the rest of offers to help out. This gang of hoodlums is so awesome. Seriously. Roger and I were hoping to hang with 2-3 more like minded folks and it is turning into something so much more than that. It will be sweet. If you can come help out, great otherwise, just come hang with us.
I told Shug I dont' plan on doing much after I get out there, all this prep work I just plan on lolligaggin and eating all weekend long. And swapping Manly stories. If anyone needs some let me know, I will make up some for you just like I make them up for me.
See you all for the start of tick season.

FatDaddy and I discussed this, and this is what we decided: We are lazy!
Pack your own pack. Bring your own food. And by all means BOYB.
We're bring our own personal food and will most likely bring some extra snacks to pass around and share (like homemade beef jerky). But, we are far to lazy to pack more than that. Mostly we just want to hang around, relax and fellowship with some fellow hangers. And if we are lucky, we might get a chance to watch Shug do a video (I'm crossing my fingers). If everyone were to bring just a little bit to share, I'm sure no one will go hungry.
A NOTE OF WARNING (Seriously). We are having an early warming spring here. That means the black bears will be coming out of hibernation earlier. They are quite hungry after their winters nap, so food storage discipline is serious business this time of year. Unless you want to wake to a black bear gnawing you like a burrito, no food in your hammock. Bear sacks in trees... please. Did I scare you yet?. GOOD! Take good precautions and we will have a fun and safe hang.
Water: I'll check on the water situation around the 1st of April and let everyone know if they will need to carry, filter or what. This will all depend on how much rain we get. Stay tuned for more about that as we get closer to the date.

Just got back from cutting up all the wood dragged in previously.
It is Half A stacked, and tarped.
Fatdaddy, Do we need more???
Would have been nice to have remembered the camera.
SUPER!
I will try to get out there tomorrow and take a photo and evaluate our pile.

I would come to this. I will follow the thread
I haven't logged in for some time, but I'd love to come, family and work permitting.

I just ordered my first UQ today and would love to try it out on this hang, but I really don't think that's possible without the help of a voodoo priest swinging a dead chicken above his head while chanting in tongues to the spirits that control the manufacturing of hammock related gear.
Anyone know a good, cheap Voodoo priest looking for some side work? I checked the Yellow Pages here. No luck.
