it's true, to be really UL you need to ditch the hammock and just go with the pad, ground sheet, tarp, bug net and top quilt.
But no harm to look for an UL hammock.

my hammock gear weights total: 2430g (~86oz)
Winter: total 2521 (~89oz)
(see my profile for detailed weights)
gram counter, not gram weenie!
I see it that way that I knew about the weight beforehand, but I don't really mind. I wanted the features of the NX 250, the pockets, the weather shield and am more than happy to have them. For me weight is not everything. I want a mix between weight, comfort, durability. Especially the last two points I often miss on UL gear. What does it help me if I got the stuff somewhere because it is lightweight but then it fails on me because of lacking durability. I also noticed that as older I get (not that I am old yet..) as more comfort I want too.
After all if you compare it with some other popular hammocks and add the weight of a tarp to that there is not that much of a difference.
I actually did cut my stuffbag off, not for weight reasons, but I never used it. Nice stuffsack for another use. Resale value? Couldn't care less, She's a keeper anyway.

Thanks to all for the great advice and opinions. I guess I'll keep it as is and take the advice of Woodhunter.....stop whining, stuff it in there and start hiking!

I never said you were whining. I just thought after all the money you spent why wreck it. Always willing to give a Jarhead heck though.
