Gathered End vs Bridge Hammocks..

I currently have a WBBB and am looking at purchasing a second hammock. I see bridge hammocks and think "they could be a flat and comfortable hang". I would like to know more about the pros and cons of bridge hammocks.

Which do hangers, who have used both, prefer? Is their much of a difference in the way they are rigged? What would be the down side to moving from a gathered end to a bridge?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Roger.....I have both. One is a GrizzBridge. Very comfortable and you can spread your feet out a bit more. But...Bridges require spreader bars thus the tarp pitch is a bit trickier depending on the tarp you have. And there is a bit more suspension line. not big deals at all.

Those videos really help show off the bridge hammock. It does appear to have a bit more complicated suspension system. However it does look very comfortable.

It also appears to take up a bit more room, being wider at the ends.

I can see I need to put a bit more thought in my choice. Thanks again.

Shug, I don't want to put you out, but that would be fantastic. I probably won't sleep in it, but I would sure love to give it a lay down. I just wouldn't feel right sleeping in another man's hammock. As the Joker's says: Never rub another mans rhubarb.
