I had my incubator in for repairs and they also retrofit mine with the new system. Gone is the channel suspension. The length has a shockcord with preloaded tension on each side, so it looks like it will definitely hug along the sides more. This length is not adjustable, on mine anyways. I had the line going over ridgeline to pull up the middle before as well, so we'll see if it helps with that.
The head and foot ends adjust as before with cordlocks on each corner. And the separate lines that hook over the hammock ends which are adjustable with the line lock.
Going out this weekend to test it out.

added a couple pics to help try and illustrate

I got a couple over Christmas with the draft collars, which I really like.

The new mods look slick. We'll have to see how they work!

To the inside. Think the traditional draft collars inside the neck area of cold weather sleeping bags....

Ferret, what are the grosgrain loops for that I see in your picture?

I'm not certain but they're on every HG quilt I've ever seen. My thought has always been that they just give the user more options for suspension rigging. There are similar loops mid way on the side channels of the incubator that a number of hangers use to attach a cord across/over the SRL of their hammock for more support.

Adam said that they are just additional attachment points for users to use. I asked him once about getting the vendors together and making them standardized. He said that there were too many different ideas & vendors that didn't want to deal with it.

He said that they put them on anyways, just so people can tweek their UQ. Like if you were having a problem with the Incubator slipping off your footbox on a WBBB, you could attach the loop there to hold it up better.

I actually use the middle loop on each end to tighten up the pull along the center of the UQ under the hammock (see my gallery post).

I'd think they are for these. Don't even begin to understand how Adam and Jenny knew Dutch was going to come up with these.

I'm mixed about the new suspension. I'm sure the new method allows more fine tuning and snuging the quilt closer to the hammock body, but I love the ability to slide the quilt fore and aft. One of my favorite features of the quilt. Sad to see it go. I hope they still offer it as an option.

    WOW those are nice quilts.

Thanks for the pictures body and ferret. That is one fancy suspension. Probably a bonus for folks that use multiple hammocks with and without foot boxes.

Ferret - the chambers at the foot end look much smaller than at the head. Do they shrink in both height and width? Looks like about 1/3 of the total length is narrowed. Any concerns about colder legs with the narrowing? I believe Adam knows what he is doing, but that is one area I like to keep warm.
