    TSA rules for hammockry?

    Fine folks,
I am wanting to take my hammock rig to Ireland next week for pictures and bragging rights that my rig has been international . Anyone know of any potential problems with hardwear "elephant hooks" or the like?

    Thanks in advance!!!

Haven't had any issues with my hammock set-up (checked, of course) while crossing international borders. Closest thing to an issue I had was convincing some customs folks (stupid dogs) that it was a hammock. Ended up setting it up between two concrete pillars. There are a couple of customs folks in Detroit that have been enlightened.

Carry my DIY with straps, Dutch clips and clinch buckles on occasion in my carry on travel bag. Zero problems in and out of the USA, Thailand, Indonesia or China in the last couple years. Only place they had to look at it closer was at the local airport last year and then it was only a glance and rescan.

WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

At LAX I had to unpack my entire backpack last August. I had my ENO DN and I guess the way the carabiners were laying the x-ray girl thought I was trying to smuggle a couple of swiss army knives. Once it was all out and re-xrayed I was free to go. Spent another 10 mins repacking the backpack. It was a tight fit to begin with.

When I go to the Gorge to camp I put all of it in check-in bags. They are gonna look at carry-ons. Juggling balls even get questioned.

Even Juggling balls! Is nothing sacred? It's funny, I never even had a second glance toward tent stakes in my carry on...that is... Umm... When I used a tent...pre-Awakening.

I'd question the juggling balls just to see Shug juggle them, hehe
