Grand Trunk Single .vs. ENO Single ?

I am writing to ask about any differences between "Parachute Nylon single" from Grand Trunk and the ENO "Single Nest".

Both look nearly identical, same price ($55), and available near where I am.

Both rated at 400lb which leaves plenty of extra holding strength.

I've searched and read some reviews on both here, and some coverage of the doubles from each company, but I still have not found a reason to choose one over the other.

Can any give me a reason to choose beyond flipping a coin?

I've had both. The ENO seems lighter when you lay in it and it stretches a bit more than the GT. I love the ENO because it breathes more and is a little softer on the skin. The GT doesnt breath as much but it seems more sturdy and might last longer. Both can be fit with Whoopies or your choice of suspension. I gave my ENO to my brother and I bought the GT. To tell you the truth the only real difference I noticed was the fabric. They lay almost exactly the same for me. I'm 5'1 and 167lbs. So length isnt that big of a deal to me most of the time.

All in all, I prefer my GT over the ENO. Dont get me wrong the ENO is really nice feeling and seems strong, but the GT is a little warmer (diff material) and seems like it will last longer for me.

If you have them both available maybe they will let you try them both out in the store. That would help your decision. If not, then I would personally go with the GT.

Thanks Oper8or - I am in a fairly cool climate, so any extra warmth is probably a good thing for me.

Wow just noticed you are in Canada. I'd definately go with the GT. You will enjoy it more. Plus GT moved their facilities to a new location. From what I've heard the new GT hammocks are nicer than the one I have. Better material and all. Good luck with you purchase! I hope you enjoy it and have many nights of good sleep. Just watch for trees!
