My summer UQ for use in the Adks (where I spend most of my time) is a LeighLo 2/3 Summer. I have used it down to just above freezing with a ccf sit pad for my feet. It weighs 9.6oz.

Replace heavy stretch / sock cords --they have cores of solid rubber -- with thread, and use as little shock cord as necessary. With minimum or no baffling for summer, and the majority of the down gone, too, weight becomes, mostly, a function of size and cord-weight control.

Allow for small, and obviously the impact of fabric weight is minimized. Or, if you want to be a playa, enjoy the cost of hi zoot fabric being smaller than with a full-length UQ.

Also, the cost in discomfort-penalty in the summer of falling off the wagon...er uq....... is smaller than if temps are 20F.

Te-Wa is a small guy, and he makes UQ's that are smaller than some others. Bingo.

CCF pads work very well in a double hammock as the pad tends to stay in place.

My custom .51 cuben inner and 7d outer phoenix (3/4 length)from Hammock Gear comes in at 8.96oz with 5oz of down or summer with 1oz overfill. That's including the 3/32 shockcord but not including biners.

Its got me to 30 degrees comfortably, which is 3 season temps in my country. For summer I'd like to make a 2/3 with 3oz with the 8d fabric. Hopefully be in the 6oz range and get me to 50 degrees.

Our 1S option on our Jarbidge or Lost River quils comes in at about 9-10 ounces and will take most to 40 degrees.
