My WBBB has a nice bright green zip tie on the suspension buckles at the head end.
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

Thanks. I do the exact same thing. Now I have a saying to remember.

I just have a little piece of red string tied on the foot end strap. Black at the head. They also work as drip lines. Gotta have more than one function, right?

With some designs--especially the Blackbird and the bottom-entry Hennessy models--yes, there is. I rotate my head end depending on season. In bug season, the head end is with my head towards the non-opening side of the netting (I find this the easiest way to get in and out of the hammock). In non-bug season, it's opposite to allow me to see the sky as much as possible and adjust my underquilt to cover my shoulder.

No problem. I wish I could take credit for it, but someone else here on the boards had the idea first. Don't remember who, but I remember reading it and thinking that it was a good, simple solution.

I use a version of a black bishop bag with one opening for the whole hammock to fit inside and the other side just big enough for the whoopie sling to exit. The side of the hammock with the bag still attached is always my head end.

Like a good boat, a good hammock is symmetrical, the same on both ends, so it doesn't matter.

That said, I have a diy storage bag that has a hole on one end just big enough for the suspension line to exit and on the other end it has a large opening with a draw cord. I attach the small hole end first, so if I had an asymmetrical hammock I could put the head or foot on that end, but I don't have that problem.

I use different colored cord locks, and different colored biners. That is of no help in the dark, though. If I wanted to be able to tell in the dark, I would put a piece of tape on the biner, only one of them, so I could tell by feel which biner I was holding. Applying a small bit of silicone caulk to one biner would also work. Just enough to be able to feel it.

Green whoopie on one end, blue on the other.
