How to know which end is which

    Hei,

When hanging your hammock what kind of identification you use on Hammock/suspension to know which end is which?
    - how your system works in the dark?

The manufacturers do not seem to mark them by anything distinctive

I wrote head on one of my dutch clips. It worked for a long while in the daytime, but it worked terribly in the dark even with a head lamp. Now that the marker has worn off completely, I think I'll engrave head on the head end dutch clip. Does any have any tips or cautions when it comes to engraving titanium?

Initially I marked my suspensions in some way but then I realized that it just became simplier to leave my double ended bag on the suspension and repack it in reverse of how I hung it so the tree straps are the last thing to go in the bag and the first thing to come out the next time I hang.

Simply put, when I pickup my hammock bag I can feel the straps and know that's the head end of the hammock.

In my Blackbishop sack I had my cord in 'Red' for the head end and 'Black' on the foot end.

Switch to whoopies and put a bead on the head end and a whoopiehook on the foot. Or vice versa, what ever floats your...err, gets you hanging.

I pack my oversized snake skins with the foot end skin underneath the head end skin--"head over heels".

I use a whoopie sling for my ridge line and the adjustable end of the whoolie is my foot end. Don't want the tail of it laying against my face all night!

Always stuff foot end first. Tree straps go in last. Tree straps always next to head end.
