Summer TQ for the south-- anybody use the REI travel sack?

I am looking for suggestions on a summer top quilt.

The REI travel sack caught my eye... anybody use one? Would you recommend it?

I'm in Tx, and much of my hanging is in muggy East Texas, so I've been thinking about the synthetic option. I do like to have something covering me, even in the warmest weather. I'm not much into DIY at the moment, so looking for a ready made option.

ETA: I've also been looking at the Sea to Summit bag liners; any thoughts on those?

You could just use a lightweight bed sheet if there's no chance it'll be cold. To cut weight you can cut it to size and hem the edges. I know you said you're not into DIY but it would be cheaper and lighter than a liner, and super easy!

Poncho liner,,and you can even cut it down alittle and hem the sides if its too wide for ya,,it will cool down alittle at nite. You might be able to find a sythetic bag that you can modify,,I did one for the wife out a Big Agnes Lost Dog sleeping bag that is perfect for summer. BA doesn't make them any more but I bet you could find one on the internet somewhere. Hot at nite...use a sheet,

Poncho liners are synthetic,,get it wet and still will put alittle warmth out..drys quick too,,full size is about 22-23 oz. I have used them not because I wanted too, down to 40 degrees in a pouring down Monsoon rain for months in Vietnam, wrapped up in a military issue poncho as well on the ground. I keep one in the car for the heck of it as a emergency blanket. dog lays on old one in the house till he gets too hot,,but he even likes it. You can beat them up and they still stay resillent. I still love my down..but for car camping, keep a couple with me always just for kicks.

I have one of the REI travel sacks (50 degree bag). I've had mine for about 8-9 Years.
I like it, I live in Georgia and it has worked fine. I've not used in a hammock yet, but plenty of times in a tent or house camping. It packs up small and light.

You might consider a JRB Quilt Liner as a warm weather top quilt/blanket.

Having a look Outdoor Wilderness Fabrics' fleece selection, I don't think I can make one that light for that price. Unless, I made out of 40gm Thinsulate.
