    Raul,

The drive time is a deciding factor for me also.
This last weekend drove 3 hours to William Penn shelter on the AT ( PA Rt645 ) to meet up with other HF hangers.
It was worth it to meet and laugh around the campfire with others.

    Yet . . . less drive . . . more hike is the ideal.

Have not talked to my hiking partner about this hike yet. We are trying to go out once a month.
We are doing AT section hiking and have done this part.

My hiking partner, BobO, sometime objects to covering the same ground.
He has lots of 'old time trail experience', at 77, but can use some modern influences.

We hope to meet up with you in the CT section in June.

With all of that said : I like the idea of meeting up with you for this hike.

    Will get back to you.

    G

PS : My husband and I hiked up to West Mt as a Memorial Hike, when my 93yr old Mother died peacefully in old age last July.
A beautifully fitting hike in her memory.

Enjoy guys. I'm out for the weekend of the 24th.

My Adirondack trip has been canceled as well, tho I will be looking to get out either the 10th, 17th or 31st. (Just beginning to section hike the AT, NY-ME is the current agenda)

SilverSurfer, if you're looking for body's for Schagticoke, let me know.

Will do. I'm trying to set this trip up with a couple of brothers - KYBob lives near Schagticoke and his brother GMarc is in Boston. Gmarc says he won't go unless he gets his HG underquilt in time (which he of course hasn't ordered yet). It's a pain in the butt trying to arrange a trip with people in three different states, with three different jobs to work around.

    Raul and all,

We won't be joining you at Bear Mt.

BobO is inclined to stick to hiking the AT on sections we have not yet hiked.
Expect this is what our March hike and hang will be.

    Invite : AT-NY-NJ section hike. http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=48428

Hope to see you at the Spring MAHHA.
Will combine the hang with a family visit in central PA.

===> Really Paul? I drove to South Jersey from Boston for an overnighter in the Pine Barrens .... any chance to hang with friends, and DEFINITELY the Jersey Bears!

Anyway, hope to catch up with you on the AT in MA in June when you reach here!

    Who is this Paul person?

I don't get out much and when I do I like to maximize my time in the woods. It's not meant to be disrespectful. I'm sure the Jersey bears are gangsta but when I'm driving as much as I'm hiking it kinda kills the fun factor for me. It it was a multi day thing I'd be down like Charlie brown. But I can only swing over nighters for now.

===> No disrespect meant here, either, Raul! (R, P, to me they kinda look the same!) Either way, I still plan to try to hook-up with ya on the AT in June!

    Hang on!

The Devil's Path was a featured trek in Backpacker Magazine, but beware..in summer water is really HARD to find (hence the name Devil's Path.) BYOW!
