    April 20-22 Lake Santeetlah Paddle/Camp/Hang

Some folks who are coming from a distance are camping at Cheoah Point Campground on Thursday night. Camping is free, first come first serve with bathrooms & showers. The ones coming in on Friday can meet up with everyone sometime around noon on Friday at Cheoah Point Boat Ramp and shove off to spend Friday & Saturday nights at any one of these spots on the lake. On Friday night bring something good to grill because I'm bringing the charcoal! We hope to paddle one day and hike one day weather permitting. On the way out on Sunday afternoon many want to go out to eat somewhere in Robbinsville too, after a hot shower of course back at the campground!

I'm kinda' liking when all the plans are laid out to "work". Makes it loads easier. Thanks again Cakes' for making this happen.
Going to be a really nice weekend.

Yes, thanks to Cakes for making this happen!

I just got back from a 3-day backpacking trip last evening, and my wife confirmed this morning that we can do the Lake Santeetlah paddle. YEAH!

However, she has to work all day Thursday till late, so we can't come till Friday. Given the hour time change, I'm not sure we'll make it by noon. So, query, might others be showing up "late?" Or, in the alternative, wife and I can just paddle to wherever the campsite is on our own. No problem.

    See y'all Friday some time!

I don't see a problem with that. although I've never seen a group paddle from shore in less than an hour of meeting! I only know of one fellow who will be coming late but that is on Sat. morning, and that is only if he can fanagle himself off work.

If you & Stitch have to leave shore later than us head south/east on the lake. It's a gamble exactly where we'll all be but if there is cell service you can try & call or text. Sometimes a text will go though when a call will not....PM inbound.

Rain Man, I did not even think about the different time zone! I don't see why we cant make the meeting time 1:00 for you & Ewker.

Is that OK with everyone else? I'd like to hear from each one of you anyway.

I have no problem with the meeting - launch time at all. I will be there on Thursday, resting from a long drive earlier. Maybe a relaxing paddle at sunset, weather permitting.
Also looks like the weather is going to be ever changing with the forecast. Depending on how quickly the Front moves through.
    Safe trip everyone.
PM me for contact info if you like. I'll get my cell & email to you. I plan to email & contact LDcakes' Thursday with my timeline.

Much appreciated! Got your PM and also sent you my cell number. We'll be bringing water-proof walkie-talkies, just in case. If anyone has them along, we'll be on channel 7, unless Cakes announces otherwise. But, will plan to see y'all on shore at 1:00.

If anyone wants to see pics of my weekend hike on the Cumberland Trail, on a stretch just north of Chattanooga--

Walkie Talkies are a great idea! I'll have to see if I can get one. I got word that cell phone signals are sketchy. Channel 7 sounds good to me!

The pics of your hike are great! That looks like a nice place to go.

Unfortunately, Singing Otter and I won't be able to make it out this time. :-(
I've got lots of studying to do for school, and we both have a tournament with the dogs.

    Hope y'all have a blast!!

All packed up, and now I am a no-show.

I am going to have to deal with some issues regarding my late Father's estate in Pittsburgh and will have to back out. A shame, cause I am all ready to depart for NC tomorrow morning.

Hope you all have a great time and that the weather is cooperative.
