Hi
I'm very excited i found this forum not so long ago. im an avid DIYer and picked up some seriously good tips lurking on this forum
my love story with hammocks comes from a little while ago, i was then a party animal and i'd get quite drunk quite often, most of the time i couldnt drive from my friends house and ended up sleeping in the Yucatan hammock hung in their basement.
years later, after sobering up, i got bored and started knitting nets from an online tutorial, my first try was nowhere wide enough to become the hammock i intended it to be, and the second 6000 knots project i undertook bored me more than i was bored before boredom got me into netting. after the said above project sat in a corner of the living room for almost a year, i finaly let the GF win that fierce mind battle but i didnt settle for putting that thing away until it was over. (it only needed two more rows).
looking for my next project, i ended up searching online for some kind of guideline as of how many mesh/size of gauge shall i use for a good, comfortable and wide netted hammock, i came across this website, couldnt find the info i needed but still i came across headchange4u's tutorial on how to make an HH Asym clone and went on and tried that last evening on cheap coton canvas (the resulting hammock weights 4 lbs !!) im pretty glad i tryed this; the hammock is pretty comfortable too! i also went through Ramblinrev's making gear videos serie, they were very helpfull, thanks alot for that!
