Picking up silnylon for $1/yard in the clearance bin at Walmart is the stuff of legends now. So, barring that, what is the best place to shop for it on the internet?
Thanks,
Rob

I just bought 16.5 yards at 1.50 per yard. WHAT A DEAL! I was leary, but so far it has passed my water test for the past 4 hours. I have it stretched over a bucket with a pool of water on top. I keep checking this about every 30 minutes. So far, so good. The color is a dark teal/green. The quality is good, but I like the look & feel of the Quest Outdoors silnylon best...so far. BUT, for this price I'm LOVING the Walmart version.
Unfortunately, silnylon is not for sale at my local Walmart. It's also not available on their site. Got anything else?

Noah lamport has quality 2nds. They were charging $3 a yard, $5 cut fee, plus shipping. Minimum order of 10 yards. I havent noticed any problems with the fabric. (18 yards from a bolt of navy blue)
Edit: Just read your post again and remembered you have to place your order over the phone, but it's still a great deal.
I just (today) bought several 1st run mill end bolts of green and tan colors of Urethane coated military ripstop waterproof from a company who makes this stuff for parachutes. I'll check the weight and width after I get around to cutting off a yard and figuring how much I actually purchased. I know it passes military waterproofing test for parachutes, but I don't know what that means to us yet on the trail. I bought it to make some hammocks for me and friends but I don't know if it's too light a material for that use or not. I think it will be ok since I couldnt tear it as much as I tried. Message me privately about availability for your DIY project. I can mail a test piece to a few people interested in checking this stuff out and reporting back on if you think it can work as hammock or tarp material (or other).
DIYGearSupply, Quest Outfitters, OW Fabrics all sell rated sil.
