    Indoor hanging

So I'm seriously considering hanging a hammock in my bedroom to replace my mattress. My question is, will standard 2x4 studs in my apartment with eye hooks drilled into them be able to hold the weight without damage to the structure?

A lot of variables in hanging from studs. I installed 2 hole padeyes from Home Depot in the granddaughters room with 2 1/4"x 3" Lag bolts / padeye and they held my 200+ wieght but... This is where the variables come in, what is the stud material and it's condition. In our house the studs are yellow pine vs some softer white pines. Here in Florida hidden termite damage could be a factor. Make sure you are centered in the stud and that it feels solid when drilling your pilot holes. The distance between the attachment points can also have an adverse effect on the mount. This is not meant to discourage you, as a fulltime hanger I can understand the desire to hang inside. Do a search for 'home', a lot of threads have been tagged. Goodluck and happy hanging.

Could I eliminate some of those risks by simply installing 2 eye hangers on both walls (Two in adjacent eye hangers on separate studs and then a link connecting both to which the hammock attaches too)?

Realize also,,where yu have door ways, and windows,,they are double framed and more structurally sound with all that lumber tied together. I have my eye bolts, one into 2 vertical studs tied together near doorway and the other in a 2 x 12 of the stairway. So maybe use a stud finder to find your studs. But the way most houses are built, studs should hold in my opinion.

One of the things I found out the hard way is that you want the hamock to be pulling on the eyelet straight out from the wall (suspension should be perpendicular to the wall) If the suspension pulls sideways on the eyelet, It will casue the eyelet screw to shift and it will cause some damage when it does.
    with two m's, like "hammock."
