How do you tension your guylines?

Waiting for my Wilderness Logics Big Daddy to come in the mail and I started to think about how i'm going to set up this tarp. I just placed a order for some dutchware to make a CRL and now i'm just thinking about the guylines. I have some of the MINI Line Loks but i'm kinda skeptical on how well they will hold. And i'm kinda worried about how close they will let me pitch the tarp to the ground vs prusik's.

Right now my plan is to put prusiks on one side of the tarp and MINI line loks on the other and see which i like best, but would love to hear if you have any other suggestions.

I like knots so I use prusiks attached to the tarp tie outs and just slide the cordage through the prusiks to lengthen and shorten. It's handy to have them attach to the tarp so you can adjust them from under the tarp when its raining.

I use shock cord and then use a taught line hitch to tighten them.

Regular, non-stretch cord, and the trusty taut-line hitch!

I use a Figure 9 Tent Line Kit and attach the lines to small shock cord loops on the tieouts. Works every time, etremly easy, and I've never had a figure 9 so much as bend out of shape, let alone break. I also use the same relfective rope and two figure 9s for my tarp ridgeline, although that is changing when my just-ordered tarp flys and dutch hook arrives next week.

I have a 30' CRL with Prussik's. For tie outs I use Whoopies made out of 1.75mm lash-it w/8'' of 1/8 shock cord.

They'll hold fine so long as the line isn't stupidly undersized - i have used mini linelocs on a four-season tent in 80mph blizzard and they didn't fail over several days (though probably froze to the line!).
