How do you tension your guylines?

I've got prusiks attached to my tarp corners with cord running through them, and I use a MSH around the stake. At the time I did the prusiks in this way, I thought it was my idea

My tarp came into the mail yesterday so I went out earlier today on a little hike and set it up a few times.

I tried the Mini Line Loks, not really a fan. They hold just fine I just don't like that you cant put the stake close to the tarp.

Prusiks worked just fine I just didn't think they where necessary after I tried the marlin spike hitch, for me it's the way to go. I can put the stake where ever I want, I don't need to worry about anything slipping and I just like tying knots (just not untying...). The only thing I don't like is it's harder to adjust because you need pull the whole stake out but that's not a big deal because I'm using tarp tensioners.

I really liked the method Brandon (Warbonnet Guy) demonstrates in his videos. Need to use stakes similar to the MSR Groundhog and then its just a frictional wrap around the stake. No knot to tie or undo, easy to adjust, and I have not had 1 failure yet. Straight, simple, using 1.8 mm cordage and nothing else. Pretty much, its K.I.S.S !
