    My folding chair broke and I made This

    My folding Event chair broke and I salvaged the Mesh pocket off the back of it and Made my self a Ridgeline Organizer

    I just folded the thing in half and stitched up the sides with gutted 550 cord.

    Should do fairly well when I hook it to some prusiks to keep it in place.

    Based on the title I thought this post was destined to be moved to the donating members section. Wrong.

    Just trying to keep it interesting. I intended not to let the parts of the chair go to waste.

    I was surprised that the first thing I thought to do with the broken chair was make a ridgeline organizer. I sure did need one.

    here is the dead chair

    Nice bit of DIY using found materials. Love it! Would like to suggest a simple mod that you may like. I call it a traveling RO. Attach biners to both ends of your ridgeline. Run a light cord from one end of the RO thru one biner back to the other biner then back to the RO. This allows you to pull the RO out of your way to the foot end of the RL. If you need a drink, light, etc just pull the string to slide the RO within reach. I've been using this for awhile and find it very handy.

    @Olddog

    Do you mean something like this without the hardware?

    It seems like you are saying to get a piece of line twice the length of your hammock ridgeline and loop it from end to end and use it to move a fixed item on the line from end to end.

    a miniature version of this?

    That's basically it, replace the pullys with biners and the money with your RO. When not needed the RO is at your feet, a gentle tug and it's within reach.

    In the past I had used loosish prusiks and slid them back and forth. This seems like a slightly heavier and more complex set up but I LIKE that kind of luxury. To me cutting weight is only worth while because it allows you to bring more Awesome.
