I have been hanging out here for a little while and decided it was time to introduce myself. I have learned alot and even made a few diy projects. I was on the AT last march and a couple of thru hikers were in hammocks and it intrigued me. I bought an eno singlenest from a local outfitter. It was comfy but a little too small so I found this site. I have since made a bigger diy gatherened end and a blackbird clone. Although not perfect by any means it sure is cool to have the footbox, shelf, and bugnet. I am saving now for the real thing and trying to lighten my load a little. Just wanted to throw a huge thanks to all the wonderful people here. Hopefully I will be able to help people here as much as you have helped me but for now just learning myself.

Hope to meet you at a hang. Check out the calendar. Mar. 16th hang at Huntington beach will be great, come join us. You can check out a lot of different set-ups there. Everyone will be happy to help in anyway we can, and we'd also like to check out your DIY hammock.
