DIY hammock question

So if I am making a double hammock with foot box do I sew the body together first and then add box on. Or do I make two boxes and then add them to each layer then sew them all together? I think this would allow u to put your pad into footbox maintaining two separate layers. Maybe I'm way off. Advise much appreciated.

I never heard of one being built that way..but that doesn't mean your idea can't work

Typically the "footbox" allows the hammock fabric to sag on that side and your feet don't actually go up into the footbox, they usually sit right on the hem where the footbox attaches.

Give it a whirl. Experimentation around here is encouraged.

yeh thats what i did on my diy BB.

+1. without a net, the only purpose the footbox serves is to keep your top quilt/feet from flopping out of the hammock... a single footbox triangle is sufficient...
