    Recent projects

I've been making or modifying a few small things the last few weeks that probably don't deserve a thread of their own, so I thought I'd lump them into one. First off, some 1.9 ripstop gaiters. .86 oz for the pair.

Next is a half ripstop, half fleece pillow for optional extra comfort. I stuffed it with normal pillow stuffing. 2.75 oz.

Now for some mods. I added a stretch-side mod to my hammock on the foot and shoulder sides. (thanks Knotty!). It's fantastic. I sewed a channel of 1.1 to the edge to run the shock cord through.

My DIY backpack needed a bottle holder, so I added one. Used elastic for the top.

And finally (best for last) my 20 degree UQ in 1.1 ripstop with 800 fill down. I made it a while ago, but just added zing-it for the channels. 15.5 oz.

I also made some Tyvek rain mitts, but I seem to have lost them. And before anybody gets the idea that I'm improving my DIY skills, don't worry; I made 2 right hand mitts (I only have one right hand).

Thanks to everyone who made tutorials and pictoral for these projects (Knotty and JustJeff especially). Couldn't have done it without you, and I could barely do it with you

Some really nice stuff there BullFrog! Seems you're knocking quite a few things off that ever-growing DIY list!

    Whew! You've been busy Bullfrog!
    Nice looking stuff, too!

I made some gaiters a while back and found that I needed to add a "rubberized" strip around the top, inside perimeter to give them some friction to hold them up.
Then again, I have bird legs

Thanks for the tip. I unfortunately haven't had the chance to use them yet, so it's better to find that out now than on the trail. My legs are also considered "birdy" by some
