    Hammock IN a tent.

I have a tent that has seen several seasons with the wife and kiddo and several seasons of my irresponsible bachelorhood before that. I have repaired it a few times and we have a new tent for family trips. My question is: has anyone ever cut slits in the sides or windows and set up the tent between trees so that they can have the comfort of a hammock and the weather protection of a tent. ( only slightly compromised by the new holes) If I try this it would be for car camping only. I would cut the slits just where the rain fly meets the side wall, and tie drip string just outside the tent wall too. Any other suggestions?

I have had this same idea for a while. I just don't have a large family tent to cut. Go for it!

It seems like it would be easy to do, as long as you reinforce around where you cut the slits.

Like this minus the DIY woodstove? Works great, btw.

    Cheers
