    North GA Mountain hang 2.0

Alright decided to start a new one.

For those who couldn't make it to the last one, let's decide on a date and place.

I prefer to always hike, but we can do a shorter hike. We could do 3 Forks on the AT. It's a 4 mile hike from Springer Mt and it's fairly easy, plus it's mega beautiful/awesome, but I would be down for anything. A hang in the woods no matter where is always a good time

Great idea! I posted a link to here in the old thread so that people would come here to plan this Hang 2.0 trip for this upcoming weekend.

Do I have these two locations correct for the trailhead and the actual location for Three Forks? If so, Google maps seems to think it's only 2.7 or 3.0 miles to hike in from the Springer Mt parking lot. Do I have all that correct? I've never been here, so I don't want to get any more lost than is necessary!
    Trailhead: 34.637375,-84.195185
    Three Forks: 34.663577,-84.184214

I'm up for any location including Panther Creek, Three Forks on the AT, or even going right back to the Chattooga again. I kinda got my heart set on going there, but like you said, a day in the woods anywhere is a good day, and I'm always up for seeing new places!

Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can.
    Pursuing it with eager feet
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."

Exact easy directions to Springer Mt.

    575N
    Take 52 east.
Turn left at the Dollar Tree
Stay on this road for for about 14 miles or so.
On your right will be a sign for Springer Mountain
Turn right and follow gravel road to the trail head for about 6 miles. It will be on your left.

I've got my old ENO Single Nest hammock as an extra. I slapped the adjustable webbing suspension from my WBBB on it to replace the crappy Slap Straps. It's not a palace like the Blackbird, but it is still a nice hammock. If you want to join us, you're welcome to borrow it. Don't miss out on a trip just because your hammock is still in the mail!

3 forks is where I left my tree straps and anodized Dutch Biners last year. Maybe yall can find them. I might be down for this trip, but its major thru hiker season I bet. Might be crowded.

True. Especially on a Saturday. Cohutta might be better. Hike to Panther Creek Falls. Only a 4 mile hike down.

Dang!!! Wish I could head north again this weekend. I've already made plans to head south of I20 for a camping/ scouting trip with friends. Oh well, yawl take pics of 3 forks if you can. I'm gonna head back to the Chattooga weekend after next. I really like that place a lot and there's still plenty of exploring and fishing that needs to be done
