No kidding, weight matters. I doubled and redoubled twice the webbing that Warbonnet supplies. 32 layers is 11/8" thick. So it is about 0.035" thick, a fourth of this stuff, and a fourth the strength. 1/4 the weight, it will provide a larger margin of safety, assuming it doesn't unravel when nicked.
I've been disappointed that seat-belt webbing is sensitive to an edge cut, unraveling.
Hey guys I got a name change. Anyway, I purchased a sewing awl on amazon and have been hand stitching my straps. The polyester thread that came with the awl is huge! I have been stitching the continuous bar tacs parallel with the webbing (4in long, 2 each way). I read that in an old thread that this is the strongest method. Think these guys will hold me? Can the thread be too thick? Also, the woodland camo is very cool looking and not any thicker than the straps I got from opie.

I just got mine today. They are very nice quality strapping, stiff, dull finish (almost feels like cotton webbing, but I did the burn test on it), and according to my scale, it's .2133oz/ft.
The woodland webbing is colored very similarly to Multicam. It might even be the same colors.

Whether or not they'll hold you is a very tricky question to answer without seeing a picture, and even then, we could only guess. If you did a solid job with the stitches, with a relatively short stitch length, you'll probably be fine. If in doubt, hang low, and maybe even have somebody standing at the strap watching it when your first sit in it.

OK, DOC, I'm off today to find a Speedy Stitcher at a crafts store, like Michael's, AC Moore, or a stand-alone hobby shop specializing in model airplanes which may be a good place to find fiberglass rod and fittings to support hmmk netting. The Speediy Stitcher must be the most re-badged and re-packaged tool or commodity here......since tie-out line.
Silly not to have this tool and put in the bit of time to master its use.

I absolutely love the Speedy Stitcher DemostiX. My only complaint is that if you try to get those stitches really small and super tight like I did. You will get some blisters/hot spots on your fingers (not from the awl, from the thread rubbing when you pull it taught). Think I'm going to wrap just a little bit of medical tape around my index fingers and thumbs before my next batch!
Any chance of getting some up-close shots of the webbing? I'm interested to see what kind of weave these rolls have.
