    1in Polyester Webbing Thickness

    I am pricing bulk 1in polyester webbing and I may have found a very good deal. The only thing is I'm not sure if it's too thick and heavy. Says it's 1" wide, approximately .078" or 2.02mm thick, 5300 lbs tensile strength. Anyone know if this is pretty standard? This will be for tree straps. Thanks in advance!

    That is thicker, stronger, and heavier than you need and likely will want. But, I think it will fit every buckle and apparatus.

    Get a color you like, because you won't need to be changing it out for wear.

    Seems to be a bit of overkill personally - I have tree straps that are 1500 pounds and 3000 pounds and they work very well. But if it is still flexible and not too heavy for you (and a great price) could be just right! You can look at DIYgearsupply and compare with some of their offerings.

    Thanks for the help everyone! I've ordered so here is the deal:
    Didn't want to post until my order was in. Knowing you guys it would've sold out before I could pay. My calculations:
    50yrd- $28.85 ---> 0.192/foot
    25yrd- $18.20 ---> 0.242/foot
    10yrd- $15.70 ---> 0.523/foot
    This is a closeout and these prices are shipped to your door.
    In my opinion the added weight will be minimal compared to the savings.
    Your options are 10, 25, or 50yrds in Hunter camo or Digital camo. Hope this doesn't make any of the guys mad over at DIY or Arrow but these prices are less than 1/3 elsewhere.
    25yrds of Hunter should be perfect for me and my friends!
    Ready, set, go!

    I just ordered 25 yds. dig. camo. Thanks for the heads up. FWIW, this does NOT qualify for free shipping.

    Doesn't have to qualify for free shipping.
    Prices original poster listed INCLUDE the shipping.

    I expect to see some of this re-sold here, following questions about how to sew secure loops with a hand stitcher, marling spike seamanship style. <smile>

    Great deal - thanks krchristopherson!
    I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

    I just got a 10yd. roll of ACU, and a 25yd. roll of woodland. I think I'll be set for tree straps for a while now!
