Heard of Kijaro?

In another thread, the OP was talking about using a gift card at Cabelas. Honestly, I've never thought to look there for hammocks beyond noticing them while looking at other things. So, I gave a look.

Anybody heard of, or used the Kijaro hammocks? They look like ENOs. TrekLights, TTTM, etc. But, I got burned once before on a look-alike hammock that was beyond terrible. Only hammock I've ever hated...and I do love hammocks. Anyway, they are certainly priced friendly. Has me curious.

Think I'm going to have to order one of these things and see. Can't really have too many lounge around the yard hammocks anyway.

It's more like a gear landfill at the moment.

Genuine Draft's son moved back out here from Gulf Shores, AL last month. There are two bedrooms upstairs; one is my gear room, the other was Genuine Draft's dressing room. The woman has some shoes, let me tell you! Anyway, we had to move stuff and the gear room became the overflow. I literally have trails to walk in my gear room. Makes me want to cry every time I open the door.

Easy solution, sell the shoes and get more gear.

I bought, then had her trained to use a shotgun this past year. No way in the world I'm selling those shoes. Hell may hath no fury like a woman scorned, but an armed woman with missing shoes trumps that 'woman scorned' bit by a chunk I'm bettin!

Besides, it will be easier to stash the Kijaro and make the claim "oh, that old thing?" with a destroyed gear room.

I can appreciate the inclusion of standard and strong screw links in place of more expensive carabiners. Of course, a poorly chosen supplier could screw that up -- pun -- too, but the absence of welds, which are a known QC problem, is good.

For the weight-unconcerned, these ordinary links are rated above 1000lb in reasonable sizes.

Not so fast. I blew one of those up, at well below it's "rated" load. They only engage 3-4 threads, and the steel is soft. Those things are good for hanging bird feeders, and not much else...certainly not people.
