    Sniveller under and over?

Nevermind, spoke with one of the Jack's today and he put me on the right path. dedicated underquilt will be a better fit. Nuff said.

So I have picked up a used sierra sniveller for a really great price and feel like I would love owning the stealth to compliment it as an under quilt/top quilt combo. This would give me the ability to move the quilts from either position to meet a wider range of temps. I have a Clark NX 250 and a Grand Trunk UL and I am wondering about how to mount either sniveller as an under quilt of both of these hammocks and would a heavier bottom or top quilt be better for lower temps?

The Jacks' suspension system works pretty easily on just about any hammock suspension. Just throw a larkshead around the suspension and slide it to adjust tension against the hammock. Warmest quilt on the bottom is the general rule.

    Nice set too BTW.

I use my No Sniv. as a top quilt because it's not a differential cut.

I guess maybe I'm a little thick in the head. I tried to attach it under my UL last night and couldn't figure out exactly how it should be done. The sniveller has cinch cords that tighten up the ends but not the sides. When I attached those to my hammock suspension the sides of the quilt just flopped out loosely and left a large gap. I have seen many pics of quilts installed under a hammock and they appear to hug the sides of the hammock. There are tabs on the head end and middle that i could use to attach a bit of shock cord but nothing on the foot end.

Sorry for slow reply. I couldn't get on the JRB site yesterday and I wanted to direct you there to see pictures. Sounds like you need suspension cords for your UQ. JRB sells them or you can make your own. The link shows pictures of the suspension. You have one elastic cord with 2 minibiners on the ends. You make a hitch knot on your suspension and then attach the minibiners to the loops at the corners of the quilt. Slide the hitch knot up and down the suspension to tighten or loosen the suspension. Do same on other end of the quilt. The cinch cords you were using are to make the ends tighten around the hammocks to keep out air gaps.

There are other suspension methods you can use but this is the original way the Jacks recommend for their quilts.
