I would not get in that thing for nuthin. Having a failure by yourself is bad enough. Imagine falling with 5 other people from 15 feet up in the air....... with that ladder underneath you! That hippie chick would squish you.

Yep, that's what I was thinking... You could outfit all 5-8-12 of you with really top-of-the-line outfits, underquilts, etc. for a lot less.. Plus, you could probably hang 12 hammocks faster than you could hang that beast!

Tens of thousands of dollars/pounds for a big hammock? With a lead-time of 6-9 months?? Puh-leeze!! Not a chance! Are they really selling that many that you'd have to wait that long to get one?

Even if I won the lottery there's no way I'd buy one of these from Ripoff Inc., er... I mean the manufacturer.

Now - if a WBBB had been with Neil Armstrong when he went to the moon and he had been the first man to hang there then brought it back to Earth as a historic monument, then MAYBE it would be worth that kind of money.

    I smell a wind-up here.

I wondered the same thing. The lightest on was about 17 pounds and the biggun is close to 100 pounds. Anyone ready to drop that in a pack and tote it?

The only place I could think of to hang that bad boy would be the great Red Woods and I think you would have to be careful there.

For the price of the large (5-8) Cannibal got a quote of almost $12,000.
For that price you could outfit all in your party with a complete setup and get metal portable stands for each... probably twice over.
Have you seen the dome hammock stand thread?

    $600 at REI!

$600 at REI with current sale/discount! I'd love to have one as a novelty, but since I mainly solo, a bit too extravagant.
