Has anyone tried the Cyclone Stakes? I was looking at them yesterday, but $24 for 4 seemed a bit high to me when the REI Tri stake was only $1 each.

I have a pack of Vargos & a pack of Ground Hogs. Are these significantly lighter?
Any experience from field use on whether going with MINI Groundhogs over the regular Groundhogs is worth the 2 oz of weight I would save for my set of six stakes?
I really like for my stakes to hold their ground.
Been using the mini groundhogs for almost a year. I would estimate 40 nights with them. In a few situations, I did wish for the larger groundhog stakes, but I was able to pitch a good camp every night with these stakes. They probably will only last a few years at this usage rate. The larger groundhogs probably double in durability. My current kit has 4 of these stakes with one ti shepherds hook. Light, durable, and the ability to hold in any circumstance.

Got to love companies that capitalize on the ultralight community.
They are half the weight of the regular ground hogs, so less material.
They have the same basic construction with a slight twist at the tip, so it's not like they started from scratch on R&D.
They are mass produced with the same materials as the regular ground hog, so more bulk sourcing of the same material lowers overall cost.
So, in theory, they are costing less to manufacture than the regular ones and they cost .45 cents more?
For once, I would love to see a mainstream company actually have prices that reflect honestly on a products worth.
But hey, that is what Free Enterprise means right? They have it, we want it and don't have the ability to make it ourselves, so they can charge more.
