compressing synthetics

I have 2 synthetic under quilts and they can be a bit bulky. Has anyone had any adverse effects by compressing synthetics? I known down is ok I just don't want to damage the integrity of my insulation

Compressing for short periods or over time as in storage? Personally I tend to treat them similar to my down - compressed short periods and stored in a large cotton bag.

I guess we could get all technical about which insulation is less durable ect.ect. But in the end I follow dragon's standards as well. Except with IX I just leave it compressed anytime it's not in use.

I pack mine in the bottom and squish them down with the rest of the gear.
Hang em out to fluff when in camp.

Loft in the smallest level will be compromised over time, it is degrading every day. But not enough to be noticeable, IMO.

I have several synhtetic bags/quilts that are 10 or more years old and still do the job.

Pack them down in bottom of bag with everything on them..squish away,,no hurt as they are very sturdy and take alot of abuse..no worrys here on how I treat them..works great!
