Wow failure!! The Equip Walmart hammock blew out on my son. Needless to say he was a little bit angry.
    Here's the link.

I don't know how heavy you guys are. . .but we have taken one of these Walmart hammocks the last to years to the Boundary Waters. I sleep in a Hennessy hammock, but take the Walmart one and put it up for just relaxing. Also works great as a chair.

Last year one of the guys left his tent in the middle of the night (the other guy snored too loud) and crawled into the Wally World hammock. He slept in that the rest of the trip and loved it.

It is what it is. . .not a camping hammock like a Hennessy. . .but folds back into the attached pouch really easily and fits really well in the top of a back pack. I kayak and canoe. The Wally hammock makes a great chair to pull out at paddling stops or to just relax in.

But again. . .weight may be an issue. Both myself and my friend are under 200 lbs and we had no issues.

Well my son weighs in at exactly 263. Limit for the hammock is 300. So there shouldnt have been an issue. We returned it with no hassle at all. Maybe it was just a fluke. Knowing our luck it was. Then again, thinking back on when it happened, greater powers may just have been giving us a sign. I think I'll chaulk it up to that.

I'm not sure what you feel is crappy about it. I've owned one since March and slept in it several times. It's cheap, strong and comfortable. You could do a LOT worse for what it is. The only downside I've found is that it's noisy due to the satiny material. However it doesn't really bother me once I get settled.

I've slept in it the last 2 nights in my indoor hang and couldn't be happier for the money. I also have an ENO, Byer Traveler Lite, and HH BULA for comparison.

    WM Hammock

Well boys I just bought mine today and intend to get it out tomorrow for a test nap. I am 6'2" and 345# and by god if it holds up to my bulky butt it will be a miracle cause I am a mover in the hammock...takes me forever to get comfortable but when I do...out for an hour or two at least!

    Test results to follow!

I've had one of these fail also (6'2" 250 lbs) but I think it was due to abrasion on the material from hard use. I don't fault the hammock.

This material -at least mine- is prone to ripping with just a little bit of puncture pressure. Something to keep in mind.
