Winter trp questions

I have recently been working on a DIY winter tarp, and had two questions:
A) What do you use for your door tie-outs? I was thinking I would use a long loop of shock cord and some zing it.
B)When seam sealing it, should you seal the panel pulls in addition to the ridge line?
