Rope Hammock

What about a full dyneema rope style bridge hammock? It'd be super light, strong.

Wouldn't be incredibly comfy (about as much as any other rope hammock) but just an idea I've been throwing around. Need to get ahold of some dyneema.

Anyone have an instructional on these types of hammocks? Or know how much cord I'd need?

I have a nylon rope hammock (I havent tried yet - it was bought off ebay thinking it might be an alternative to keeping gear on the wet ground) which has 31 strands and is 2.4m long, so it contains approx 80m of cord. If you wanted light, you might be able to get away with 0.4mm dyneema braid (fishing line) which would allow you to rest most of your bodyweight on a pair of strands without it breaking. The whole thing should be under 100g.

It could easily be significantly less comfy - the lack of stretch in the dyneema would increase the cheesewire effect. I wonder if there are alternative designs or knotting patterns which would allow the mesh as a whole to better conform to a body shape?

Would using more strands (of a thinner fiber) help?
