My name is Jim, and I cannot pass a NiteEyz

display without buying something. But I am not trying to quit.

I bought one as well, eyeing the tiny S-Biners for accessory wrangling. But as Gnome said, nothing structural.

I have found them @ REI, Autozone and Lowes. They are perfect on the super fly doors. I did 2 outings with them on the ridge line and they were fine. But I rigged the tarp for some tweaking the other day and 2 failed.

Just bought a set at Academy on the way home. A bit disappointed to see they fail for tarp lines, though.

i use these lil "S"biners to attach my stake out lines to my tarps, in the hopes that they will act as a "weak link" should i trip over a stake guy line.
easier to replace a plastic hook than to repair a tarp.
i have filed the "barb" off of one that i use to attach my pillow to my SRL, those little barbs love to catch themselves in amsteel fibers.

I use them for my guy outs on the superfly. I use about a 6 inch piece of shock cord looped to attach to the tie out on tarp. Then connect the s biners. then to the guy lines. They hold up better than you might think. The shock cord takes a lot of the shock and prevents breaking them. With that said having the superfly up between to trucks as a shade shelter for a group in 15-20 mph winds and gust of 30 I did have one fail. I think that is pretty impressive. Besides whats carring a couple extra for the what if. I have found the same size in metal. I use two on my ridge line. The rest are the plastic ones.

I just bought a set of the metal ones on e-bay. I figured I'd use them for my tarp setup. I just haven't figured out where or how yet.
