the gumbo sounds good. Still not sure what we will be bringing.
At first I really didn't care, but the deal breaker with me was us being able to go later than I originally thought. The temps at that hour should be great and a little night paddling sounded awesome!

Forgot to mention, they need to know a boat count on Friday night for anyone needing to rent one Saturday.

Glad everything is all set. I just spoke with David and just so you guys know he is nothing short of awesome and will go way out of the way to make sure people have a good time. Anything to boost awareness of the park. Please be sure to thank him.

I wish I could come but life happens, I have no doubt you guys will enjoy yourselves thoroughly.

Take some great video and be sure to post it so I can see what I missed!

AMEN. We have wanted to visit Reelfoot Lake for years and years. Now to get to do a little padding on it under a full moon with HF folks and a knowledgeable guide will be icing on the cake!

Likewise, the evening float works much better into our schedule than the original proposal of a morning float. See y'all Saturday afternoon!

Is it too late to join the fun ? My work trip was postponed and I might be able to come up for an overnighter on Friday or Saturday if there's still room to hang. I'll pass on the float trip and fish instead.

Come on. If there ain't room, we'll just slide over a bit. I wanted to go up a week or two ago and scout out a good area, but that didn't happen. I'm headed up mid-morning and hope to be there noonish. I'll try to find a good area, but like I said before, if it don't suit, I'll gladly restrap on another tree.

This ought to be great this weekend.

'Supermoon' May Outshine Meteor Shower This Weekend

Skywatchers take note: The biggest full moon of the year is due to arrive this weekend.

The moon will officially become full Saturday (May 5) at 11:35 p.m. EDT. And because this month's full moon coincides with the moon's perigee — its closest approach to Earth — it will also be the year's biggest.

The moon will swing in 221,802 miles (356,955 kilometers) from our planet, offering skywatchers a spectacular view of an extra-big, extra-bright moon, nicknamed a supermoon.

Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.

There are times that the only way you can do something is to do it alone.

Wow, What an awesome bunch of folks, I had a great, but short time meeting you all and look forward to seeing you all again (Quarterly Hang ??). Kudos to the Butt In A Sling guys (Brian / Shane) and the Reelfoot Park staff for setting this up and taking care of us. I missed out on the moonlight paddle trip and the pot luck dinner but, maybe next time...
